Back in March I was asked to help design Zizzi's Christmas Menu suite alongside James Grover. I was provided with a bright colour palette to work from and asked to get into the festive mood when the sun was blazing outside (no mean feat!) - here's the results which are in Zizzi branches nationwide now.
The Set menu features Winter foliage and some characters doing Christmassy things. The other menu variations can be seen here.
And I was also asked to supply some bunting designs!
I'll be selling limited edition prints, cards, screenprints, framed pieces and tshirts at low low prices.....there may also be shortbread.

I was recently asked to contribute to Issue 3 of The Parabola Project, a Cornwall based periodical that pairs artists with creative writers. I created an image for 'The Longest Day' a short story by Fi Read written from the viewpoints of four very different women sitting in the waiting room of an abortion clinic.
As a Irish woman it's a subject I've given a lot of thought to and feel quite strongly about (particularly in the light of recent events) so it was a really interesting piece to illustrate.

Issue Thirteen of Oh Comely is on shelves nationwide this week, and what a Winter warmer of an issue it is too. Here's a roundup of the wonderful illustrators involved this time round-
I interviewed the supremely talented Karolin Schnoor about her colourful Scandinavian influenced work. Karolin is currently showing at 'The Enchanted Forest', an exhibition celebrating the bicentennial of Grimms' Fairy tales alongside previous Oh Comely illustrators Emma Block and Yelena Bryksenkova. It's open until this Friday and her beautiful Black and Gold screenprinted images (such as the one above) are for sale!
Lauren Radley brought the Jive and the Moonwalk to life through her excellent illustrated dance steps.
This Issue's illustration feature was based on an alphabet of untranslatable words sent to us by Adam Jacot de Boinod, a researcher for QI who picked up an Albanian dictionary only to discover that there were no less than 27 words for eyebrow and began to compile his own list of words with no English equivalent. Our illustrators (In order of above: Karin Soderquist, Camilla Perkins, Natasha Durley, Sarah Andreacchio and Alice Lickens) chose their favourites and supplied us with these colourful, humorous interpretations.
Julianna Brion shared some snaps of her sketchbooks which were a pleasure to look through. Using a wide variety of media on used books, her sketchbook work is a world away from her editorial style which made it all the more interesting!
Mad props to Holly Stoves for not only recreating the most complicated version of a paper ship you're ever likely to lay your eyes on, but also for making it look so appealing. There was a completed version of this Ship in a Bottle sitting in the office which was pretty damn impressive!
Patterns this time around were supplied by Ruby Taylor, visit her site for a more extensive look at her beautiful hand painted work.
Other Issue 13 highlights include and ethereal fashion shoot featuring new designers, and enormous game of hide and seek and some recipes for milky beverages (they are a lot more appealing than they sound!) x
